Vaped weed, efficient recycling

Back when I first started vaping I would often discard my vaped weed straight into the bin – a foolish, and costly mistake in hindsight – but one I’m here to make sure you don’t repeat! Here’s a few ways that you can re-use you vaped cannabis:

Re-vape It

When I’m vaping, I usually don’t stick the temperature any higher than 392°F (200°C). Mostly to do with the fact that this is the temperature at which cannabis begins to combust. Combined with this, the taste also begins to alter quite a bit.

But when your stash is complete and you still fancy a little vape, try bumping the temperature up to between 410°F (210°C) and 428°F (220°C). You’ll still get the effects you’re looking for, while only compromising slightly on the taste. Smoke toxins will begin to produce at this point, so if you want to stay awat from that, try and keep the temeprature below 401°F (205°C). You can also try the steps further down the article if high temp vaping isn’t for you.

Vaping between 401°F (205°C) and 428°F (220°C) produces more smoke than vapour. However, the high temperatures also allow sedative components such as terpineol and pulegone to activate. Other compounds, such as the antibiotic Terpinen-4-ol and quercetin are also activated.

Make Butter

If you dont wan’t to push your vaping temperatures to the limit, you can try making some ABV cannabutter. To start out making butter from vaped weed, all you really need is a bit of butter (~250g) and a bit of weed (10g-14g). Since the weed is already decarboxylated, you won’t need to worry about putting it in the oven or anything.

  1. Grind the weed as finely as you can
  2. Melt the butter
  3. Mix in the weed
  4. Simmer for about 2 hours. If you’re in a rush, around 45 minutes should be fine. Make sure not to let the butter burn.
  5. Strain out the butter. Cheesecloth is preferable, but at least two sieves doubled up will work fine, although you may get a few bits.
  6. Let to cool and store/consume.

Cannabutter is versatile and can be used for just about anything! Classic brownies, cakes etc. You could even use it to baste a chicken or use it in a sauce. If you’re looking for ideas for Christmas treats, check out our Cannabis Recipies for Christmas page.

Add to Coffee / Tea / Pizza

Since vaped weed has already been decarboxylated, you can toss it straight into many of your favourite foods and drinks. You can sprinkle it over cheese on toast, pizza, and even mix it into tea or coffee. Anything you want really! It’s a good idea to mix it with flavours that will mask the taste of the ABV.

Make Canna Caps

After my first couple batches of cannabutter, I was starting to get hung up on it’s rather unpleasant, overly bitter taste. This is when I moved from the ABV and butter combination, to using coconut oil and soy leitchthin as a metabolising agent. Leafly has a great recipie which utlilizes this, and has worked for me every time.

Thanks for reading! Have a great time experiementing with your ABV.
