A petition in the UK which is calling to “Make the production, sale and use of cannabis legal.” has now reached a staggering 200,000 signatures in just a few months.
The petition is explained in just a few paragraphs,
“Legalising cannabis could bring in ?900m in taxes every year, save ?400m on policing cannabis and create over 10,000 new jobs.
A substance that is safer than alcohol, and has many uses. It is believed to have been used by humans for over 4000 years, being made illegal in the UK in 1925.”
UK cannabis users may soon get some sort of relief from the current system which still heavily punishes those convicted on cannabis arrests.
I’m having doubts over whether or not the current Tory government will react well to the petition. Only time will tell however, and hopefully this UK cannabis petition is a step in the right direction.
