Another country takes the step
The legalization of medical marijuana went into effect in Croatia on Thursday and is now available for patients with illnesses such as cancer, multiple sclerosis or AIDS.
The Croatian health ministry has continued to outline that it is still illegal to grow marijuana in ones home and that the new legal medical marijuana can only be prescribed by doctors. The proposed regulations have stated that a patient can receive up to 0.75 grams of THC per month.
Croatia is one of the newest EU countries that has legalized the use of medical marijuana after months of campaigning by supporters of legalization. Other EU countries may follow suit, such as Ireland.
